I started the NYC group in early 2013 with one goal; share knowledge and best practices of Salesforce ISV app companies so we can all improve and succeed. A presentation I put together to introduce what I was trying to achieve. The meeting style I have implemented is a round table style with food and beverages and not a presentation style. This is to open the conversation and allow input from everyone. Typically I will have an agenda of 4 or 5 topics to get the conversations flowing and then let the members take over the final direction. A handful of topics I have used over the last year include but not limited to;
- Pricing - how does ISV Force floor effect smaller apps
- Test drive vs Trialforce - what is the difference?
- How do you verify a NFP?
- How the search results work in Appexchange?
- To not LMA, what are the pro’s and con’s?
- How do you support your program? Have you tried to outsource?
- Dreamforce, what are you doing? Can we do some co promotions?
- Delivery models and pricing considerations for each - Checkout, ISV Force, OEM
- Free trials – what’s the conversion rate to tire kickers?
- What is the up-take of Salesforce mobile apps? Is this more a custom build environment?
- The internet of things is getting a lot of air time, how many people are actually adopting this kind of - concept in an enterprise environment?
- With the acquisition of Exact Target what is the landscape for Marketing and Emailing on the platform? Is there still room for apps in this space? It will make it hard for companies like Marketo and other marketing partners.
- ISV community, what does it mean and what do we want out of it?
- Push changes or dont push changes, pro's and con's?
- Outsourcing support, what are the pro's and con's?
- Salesforce1 tour in review; was it successful? How was the conversion rate?
